The earliest surviving Sub-Saharan African textiles were discovered at the archaeololgical site of Kissi in Northern Burkina Faso, and date back to the first centrury A.D.At that time in Africa, most of the weavers were men whilst the women would spin the yarn.Compounds were used where Master Weavers would train the boys and the girls were traind to spin and dye the yarn.
